WHAT IS IT? |
The Souper Sail is a fun sail that incorporates a competition of some kind, depending on the conditions (distance race, flipping competition, relay, etc). The 1st Place winner receives a gift certificate for Turtle Soup. All other finishers will receive a raffle ticket for a chance at another gift certificate. All gift certificates are donated by Turtle Soup in Narragansett, RI. |
WHERE & WHEN |
This year’s Souper Sail is being held August 28, 2010 @ at Quonset Point, in North Kingstown, RI . Registration starts at 9am, skipper’s meeting at 10:30am, launching off the beach by 11am. Bring snacks that you may want aboard as we won’t be BBQ’ing until around 4pm. |
COST & FOOD |
Event fees are $10 per person, which covers the cost of the Fleet Port-a-John and food, soda, and water for the day. The menu will incorporate a signature Turtle Soup dish from the restaurant but (unfortunately) feature Joy’s cooking skills so please don’t hold that against the restaurant! |
DIRECTIONS to QUONSET |
Compass Rose Beach is on Roger Williams Way in the Quonset Point Industrial Park. The beach is at the end of the road on the right. Follow directions for the Martha's Vineyard Fast Ferry. Please Note: If you are using a GPS or any of the Internet Mapping sites, use the address below for the Fast Ferry. Once you drive into Quonset "Roger Williams Way" is also known as Quonset Road. |
